eSkootr Championship™ joins global events industry leaders at COP26 for Net Zero Carbon Pledge

Yesterday at COP26, the eSkootr Championship™ (eSC) joined global events industry stakeholders to present a united commitment for a net zero carbon future.

Dr Cristiana Pace, sustainability lead for the eSC championship, and one of the luminaries of sustainability in motorsport, was live on stage at the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow to represent the sport industry within the pledge and to discuss eSC’s climate change commitment.

Dr Cristiana Pace, Chair of the eSC Sustainability Working Group

Sport is a powerful way to showcase climate action, and at eSC, we want to play our part in promoting best practice and raising environmental awareness. As a sustainable lifestyle and motorsport series, eSC recognises this dual need to align both the technology we use in our racing as well as the way we host our global events.

Dr Cristiana Pace, Chair of the eSC Sustainability Working Group said,

“With our racing technology, we have already adopted a step-by-step approach for the reduction of our carbon footprint, framing sustainability best practice with our partners and underlining our commitment to grow environmentally sustainable innovations in sport as well as the real world of micromobility.

“From a sustainable lifestyle event perspective, eSC has welcomed the insights that the music industry has shared with us and we look forward to developing these collaborations further as part of the Net Zero Carbon Event Pledge.”

The Net Zero Carbon Pledge is the latest in a series of mission driven actions designed to promote sustainability in the championship. eSC strongly supports the wider objectives of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, recognising the clear link between public health and the environment.
