eSkootr Championship™ (eSC) has announced Wingo as an official event partner of the Switzerland round of the Championship, taking place in Sion on 27/28 May 2022.
The collaboration brings together two partners who stand for joie de vivre and innovation, but who also care about sustainable solutions. The partnership will see Wingo promoting its products for Mobile, Internet and TV, whilst delivering a first-class broadcast experience to racing fans across Switzerland.
30 eSC riders will race around a purpose-built track in the heart of the picturesque Swiss city, thrilling thousands of spectators and an international TV audience as well as spreading the message of micromobility. The event will be part of the International Transition Festival being held in Sion from 24-29 May which celebrates the move towards a more sustainable society, focusing on a variety of themes from daily life including mobility and transportation. The Festival is the ideal backdrop for an eSC event, with educational workshops, displays and presentations about ways to achieve greener, safer cities.
Richard Norton, Head of Commercial Partnerships and Strategy at eSC, commented:
“We are delighted to partner with Wingo for our first ever eSC race in Switzerland. This is a partnership that will allow our fans in Switzerland to experience how we are reimagining racing through an exceptional broadcast and digital product.
“Wingo is a brand that shares our commitment in delivering memorable moments and challenging the status quo. We are excited about the partnership and communicating the eSC values to the Swiss audience and showcasing a brand-new form of racing.”
Cyril Wick, Head of Wingo, commented:
“I am very pleased to support the event as an official event partner, because Wingo and the eSkootr Championship fit together wonderfully and have a lot in common. It's great that not only a completely new and innovative type of racing is taking place in Switzerland with the Championship, but also that the very sustainable and environmentally-friendly micromobility is being brought to the centre of attention. The eSkootr Championship’s clarity of message and approach to fan engagement we also want to convey with our brand and products.”
